What a horrible camera!!

Despite the horrible quality that my throw away (last minute grab) camera took of the only 12 year old birthday my daughter will ever have... here are a few pics of her birthday part at the bowling alley. She invited some of the "popular" girls from her school because, and I quote "they'll make their own conversation". Whatever that means. Well, I know what it means but I would like to think she has more meaningful relationships than that. I was one of those who had only a few frienships at a time but they were quality.

Just a few days left of summer break

This has been a really crazy, emotional, irratic and fun summer. Many levels of highs and lows, but that's cool. I guess I'm not really satisfied unless chaos of some sort is hovering.
Annalese is going into the 7th grade this year and will be going back to the Catholic school she was going to. We're not so happy with the level of education here, but I guess it'll have to do since it's where we call home. She cracks me up, that child! She'll take a shower with Twilight on and propped up on the sink, shower curtain half way open, movie turned up to the highest possible level... and showers forever while watching her movie. Who does that? Well, I had to try it tonight. I figured it must be really cool because this is how she does it every night she takes a shower. I happen to think it's pretty cool too, but don't tell her because she is really not that good at keeping the curtain closed enough to where the water stays in the shower area. So, we end up with 3 drenched towels. ERRRR!
Anyway, she's also sick with a horrible cough and congestion. Low grade fever too, so I took her to the doctor... only to get the ole'--- "it's a cold". I knew that, but somehow I felt I should be the good and cautious mom that I want to be and make sure it's not something else.
So, this weekend is approaching quickly and I'm not sure what we're going to do. I'd like to go to the lake again, but we'll see. It's been raining a lot here this past few weeks so maybe we'll get lucky and have enough sun to allow a boat ride or something.
Gary and Annalese are watching their usual movie before bed. Tonight... it's Alien. I hate sci-fi's but they seem to like it. Really they like a lot of movies I don't. Well, she likes just about any movie that has even half a plot. Kids are like that I guess. Take care of you, I'll be back sometime to ramble more and post a few new pictures from her birthday last month.

The Lake weekend

We went to the lake on Saturday. It was at the Grand Bayou Resort, but you could just go in for the day and hang out at the beach, get in the boat, ski, jet ski, hang out and eat etc.
We were invited by our next door neighbors and it was cool because Annalese had never been to the lake before, never been on a boat, never been on a jet ski, and never swam in a lake. She got to do all of these things and had a blast doing them! She got a chance to drive the boat because our neighbor who owns the boat showed her how and then let her drive. She's a little bit of a speed demon and was going so fast that I about had to jump for the steering wheel and lever to slow down. She just smiled bigger and would've gone faster if we woulda let her.
We learned a new dice game and had a great time just hanging out and chatting it up with our new friends. We'll go again sometime because they like to camp too and have a pop up camper. I'm sure we'll make a weekend of it soon. Well, errr when it gets cooler.
It's pretty funny but the wife/mom is an only child like me, the husband is the baby of four kids just like Gary is and they have a daughter that is Annalese's age. Well, they have a son too but he is busy a lot this summer so we didn't get a chance to meet him.
I hate that I have work tomorrow since it's been such a nice and relaxing weekend but at least I had the time to relax and meet new people. I'm gonna go lay down and try to sleep over the obnoxiously loud movie that Gary and Annalese are watching..... Aliens! Uck!

We were able to get a great deal on a new guitar and strap and gig bag!! She's so excited and it does our hearts good to be able to do something for her on our own! God bless america...

Crossroads

WOW! It's been a long time since I've posted. We've moved to a new place, but is still extremely close to the last one. We don't plan on moving again, but things happen. The squirrel isn't so small anymore... she's 12 on Wednesday! OMG!
Work is going well. I work for a large company that specializes in Sprint cell phone coverage and it's very interesting work. I've got lots of interesting classmates. We're on the phones tomorrow for the first time so we'll see how that goes. Many things have traspired this last year that I can't even begin to go into since I'm just waiting for the babe's to get out of the shower so we can go get something to eat. I'm dyin' of hunger. Guess I'll make some turkey burgers and some corn on the cob. My oven doesn't work in the rental we moved into, and the place was a mess when we moved in... as if someone hadn't cleaned it in over a year or something. We've been busy trying to get some things moved in so maybe we'll have them bring Merry Maids over or something to get that taken care of.
The babe's wants to learn how to play the guitar, so we're going to get her that and lessons for her birthday.
Well, now that I'm working at a place with cell phones everywhere, I'm wanting a new cell phone. A text messaging and web browser friendly one. If you have a favorite one, let me know... I'd like to look into it.
Well, gotta go for now. We're getting our computer and new service hooked up at the house tomorrow morning so I'll have to update with some pictures then. Right now I can't put pictures on it due to using my Mother and Father in law's computer and it doesn't have any current pic's on it.

11th Bday

Last pics I think

This is just the ceiling fan in the mast room, the ceiling is black, the walls are beige/tan/light brownish.



This is a picture of the dining room and to the right is the living room.



This is the light in the entry way over the front door- kinda. Way prettier than what it looks like in the picture.



There's another light like this on the oposite wall. The light bulbs flicker like a candle. Very fun!

Squirrels room

The large antique armoire, we're told stays there. I was just goofing around taking a pic of her mirror on her door. She's lovin' the armoire! Has it's own keys.

a few last ones

The first picture is a little of the office to get an idea of the colors and windows there. The second a small portion of the sunroom that you walk into from the back door of the house, next one is a line of windows in the living room or dining room (not sure which), and the last is a picture taken from the front porch. If we rent this house, that front porch is huge so we can all sit outside and count the cars that go by.

The rest of the kitchen

First off, the fridge comes with it. The cabinets are everywhere and are deep, and the ceiling is wayyyy up there, with a ceiling fan that's beautiful as well with lights that you wouldn't believe.

Oven/stove that's old fashioned

Anyone know what that one this in with what looks like 4 compartments down in there? It's on top of the stove. Weird??

The bathroom

In case you didn't notice, yeah- it's a claw foot tub! The bathroom has a beautiful ceiling fan in it and mostly has the colors blk/gold and then of course the floor is checkered large tile.

To go inside or not to go inside

This is a house we're looking at in Louisiana to rent when we move from this God awful place we're in right now. It's so not me to even step foot in a house this color, but I did and the inside has even more personality than the outside. Beautiful!

Well, we had to get the squirrel some new tennis shoes this week and we got this pair of shoes for 1/2 off. It was sad though because she's a size away from women's! I guess you could say that, "The item in the photo is as large as it appears"!

March 7th 2008 SNOW DAY

There's a lot more snow falling than you can see with these pictures but it was just too darn cold to get out in it anymore. You'd think we'd use one of our "bad weather days" that they schedule into the school year... but no!!! Not us in the South! We too smart for that. :-)






Sir Elvis likes the snow too. It was 75 degrees yesterday. 26 degrees right now.
